"S" / "P"

1920

Unknown Maker and Team Location

Absolutely stunning jersey. Bright green felt suncollar, double "S" breast patch, and "P" patch on left arm.

Has a very unique feature of having two matching loops sewn into the sides. I have never seen another nor any period photos. I speculate that these were used to attach a baseball glove. During the early 1900s, baseball gloves were often left in the field of play between innings, or kept in the back pants pocket while batting, hence this unique loop attachment, I suspect.

Also Pictured: Early 1900s Spalding sewn web glove, A.J. Reach model 50A bat, and old patina baseball.
